Kent Halloween Comes With A Price Tag
INTRO: Kent State Police Department brings outside forces to help patrol the streets,
but it costs the department heavily.
TAG: Lt. Prusha says the Halloween festivities are not a city sponsored event, just an event they know will occur.
Lt. Jim Prusha (above) released a letter to local residents, listing tips for the evening of Halloween:
– Cross Streets at crosswalks/look before entering the roadway. (We experience too many pedestrian accidents)
– Lock your cars and keep valuables out of sight.
– Keep your valuables with you. Don’t leave purses, cell phones, keys, etc. unattended.
– Don’t drink too much. (Almost all people arrested are intoxicated and many people victimized are also intoxicated)
– Plan ahead. How are you going to get home?
– Lock your house even if you are home.
– Only allow people on your property if you know them and will be accountable for their actions.
– Obey the law. (Open container, Jaywalking, Unlawful Noise, and all other laws will be in full effect.)
