Students for a Democratic Society hold a protest against the nationwide “Don’t Say Gay” bills
The Kent State chapter of the Students for a Democratic Society organization hosted a protest against the “Don’t Say Gay” bills that are appearing nationwide. The protest started on the Kent State campus at Bowman Hall and ended in front of the Student Center. Around 10 attended the rally where a speech was given in support of LGBTQ+ youth. The group fears that the new Republican majority in the U.S. House might mean that the LGBTQ+ community might be targeted. TV2’s Shane Troyano discusses the protest and what it meant for SDS.
