Shimeika McGraw hopes the city will focus more on the children of Ward 3 in future years. She hopes to see a recreation center, such as a YMCA, to provide a swimming pool and other activities for local youth.

Jeanne Johnson hasn’t been able to find clothes for women her age since the closing of the University Plaza Fashion Bug this summer, and is often forced to travel to Chapel Hill to find a good deal. Johnson feels that with the abundance of downtown retailers, some attention should be paid to Ward 3 as well.

Ward 3 resident Jean Crawford is tired of the college-town fast food scene in Kent. She feels that more sit-down family restaurants and cafes should be added for the elderly.
