PiktoChart Tutorial
What is Piktochart?
Piktochart is a tool to create graphs, charts and infographics. It can be an alternative to Infogr.am and other chart making services.
How to build a Piktochart:
1. Sign in to Piktochart at https://magic.piktochart.com. You can register for a new account, or connect a Google or Facebook account to log in.
2. Select a type of infographic you wish to make from the four templates.
3. Browse through the templates to find a desirable look for your infographic. You can also search for templates in the search bar. Mouse over the template you want and select create.
4. Edit the canvas settings. You can add blocks, delete blocks, clone blocks and change the canvas size with the toolbar to the left of your canvas. You can also change the sequence of each block on your canvas.
Edit the text by double clicking in the text boxes and typing your new text. A text bar will also appear allowing you to change the font, size, color and other settings of your text.
5. To the left of your canvas are extra settings to add and edit content. The graphics button allows you to search for and add pictures, lines and other graphics. You can also upload pictures to your Piktochart, change the background, or add new text boxes for further customization.
6. Under tools you can also add charts, maps and videos to further add to your visualization. The charts and maps options bring up windows that allow you to choose various map designs and input the data you would like to display. Videos allow you to upload and embed videos from both Vimeo and YouTube by entering a URL.
7. Once you are finished customizing your Piktochart you can click save in the upper right corner to save your graphic. You also have the option to download, publish via URL, or share your Piktochart via email or Facebook.
