COVID-19 Tests Worldwide

COVID-19 testing provides insight on the pandemic and how the coronavirus is spreading. According to data from the  Johns Hopkins University Center for Systems Science and Engineering, the United States, Spain, Italy, United Kingdom, France, Germany, Russia, Turkey, Brazil and Iran are the top 10 countries with the largest number of confirmed COVID-19 cases. However, the countries that lead the number of confirmed cases may also have a larger population or conduct more testing. The bar chart race below depicts the number of tests* conducted by country as of March 1 through May 5. The chart shows the countries that conducted the highest number of tests, interpreted from Our World In Data.
